Puppy Love

Suffice it to say, the Willard family loves animals...particularly our 'poopies' as Sam lovingly refers to them (or puppies), Wahoo and Chico. We had two awesome dogs, Maggie the Mastiff and Horace the Bulldog, after we were first married. Maggie and Horace both left
this earth much too early and left a HUGE void in our hearts.
When we lost our precious babies, there was no question that we would get more dogs...we are dog people. So, we set out for the perfect breed to own with children. We decided on buying Boxers and we came home with our new babies a year and a half ago. We named them Wahoo (black) and Chico (brown/white) after two of our favorite places...Wahoo's Fish Tacos in California and Chico Hot Springs, Montana. Thanks to Ry (Bob's brother) who helped in dog selection and naming of these two.
When we were preparing to adopt our boys from China we did a lot of reading about acclimating these guys to animals in the house.. our dogs are a big part of our lives. We knew that it was hard to predict what an adopted toddlers reaction to animals would be. Well, Alex is just enthralled with animals of all kinds - he just likes to get up close and personal. Matt on the other hand was scared to the point of shaking but has gradually adjusted. He even pets the puppies and then lets the puppies lick his face when he has a brave moment.
These are pics of Alex meeting Wahoo for the first time...and we think that they speak for themselves. Wahoo and Alex just have a love fest~
