Happy 2nd Birthday Alex!!!

Alex turned two on July 1st and we celebrated by having a small party with family. We are so blessed to have been able to adopt two children (and boys to boot) from China.
We cannot imagine our lives without Sam, Matt or Alex!
We often wonder what we did with our time...???

Of course Alex, our 'little elf,' was in rare form on his birthday. Forget all of the expensive toys for him - just give him an old laundry basket, some pots & pans, or some tupperware to play with and he is ready to go!

Alex really could not understand at the ripe old age of two what all of the fuss, gifts and cake was all about...not that he was unhappy but he seemed a bit confused by all of it. Naturally, the gift wrap was more exciting to him than the actual presents that he received.

Shockingly, none of these three boys are driven by sweets...so we stuck to the basic cake for Alex not knowing whether he would like it or not.

Sam is so funny with his little brothers. He is very proud of them and has especially taken on Alex as his personal project. We think that it is because Alex is the youngest and smallest. This picture was so funny because Sam is trying his best to explain to Alex exactly what a birthday cake and candles is....

Just take a look at Matt in the background...the expression on his face says it all. He is our more serious child, worries about everyone and everything and is quite bossy. He is picking up the English language very quickly and uses it to tattle on his brothers daily...he he.
Alex just says...AHHHHHHHH - Chocolate cake is the best...can I shove all of this in my mouth? Hmmmmmmm
